Life is slowly settling into a rhythm… it’s still awkward and misses a beat every now and again, but we have calm slowly creeping into our house.
Still taking her out every hour and a half or so, but she is sleeping through the nights pretty good. She knows where to ‘do her business’ but then again, she is on a leash at all times. (so we can properly correct/reward her, and because we have no fence)… It’s been a while since we’ve had any accidents in the house… she’s getting a bigger bladder, and we are more able to see the signs of when she has to go.
Feeding time is still nice and relaxed. The sit/stay is now just what she does… Wifey picked up a set of elevated bowls so she is standing taller when eating and that’s supposed to be better for her. The stand is adjustable, so it will be good for a while.
This weekend we will be taking dog to the vet for shots, checkup, perhaps a chip if she is calm enough. Then next week she’s off to puppy school. Maggie has no problem with people, but there are not too many dogs around so we need to socialize her with her K9 brothers and sisters. We’re told she will be the youngest and largest dog in the class. Should be fun. We haven’t been working her with getting in/out of the car enough, so it will be a bit traumatic for her I think… we have a few days yet to get some training in.
Maggie has a favorite spot in front of the fire and is content to just sit when the fire is on. She really loves her binkie too.
When the fire’s off, she don’t like me trying to catch a nap on the floor.

It’s not that she doesn’t like me on the floor, it’s that she wants to play I think. While this is cute, when she’s bigger, this could kill me. ![]()

Actually, we have been working her to stay off of us unless invited… So we can sit/lay on the floor and not have to worry about getting crushed. It’s working, but as with all things puppy related, it takes time and patience.
Wow… she’s adorable! Have fun at doggie school!!
